Position Summary:

The Reunion Gift Officer is a key member of the Raymond A. Mason School of Business and the Office of University Advancement at William & Mary. The Reunion Gift Officer will play a crucial role in building a culture of engagement and philanthropy, fostering relationships with graduate business alumni celebrating milestone reunion years and securing philanthropic support for the business school.


Working under general direction of and reporting to the Director of Development, the Reunion Gift Officer will develop and implement strategies to engage graduate business alumni celebrating milestone reunion years. In collaboration with central advancement, the Reunion Gift Officer will coordinate direct marketing initiatives, mailed appeals, solicitations and stewardship activities to maximize reunion committee efforts. The Reunion Gift Officer will be responsible for volunteer engagement and management, data management, and will work closely with colleagues in the Business School Advancement Office, University Advancement Office, and other university departments to align reunion fundraising efforts with institutional goals and campaigns. In partnership with the Director of Events & Engagement, the Reunion Gift Officer will manage and execute events tailored to reunion classes that further engage alumni and promote giving.


This is a hybrid position based in Williamsburg, Virginia, which offers a flexible work environment.

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and or experience.

  • Experience in fundraising, sales or marketing, preferably in higher education or a related field (typically 1+ year).

  • Experience working in a fast-paced office environment with an understanding of general office procedures, practices, prioritization of workflow, and managing priorities concurrently within strict deadlines, and a desire to collaborate across multiple teams (typically 2-3 years).

  • Proven success in soliciting and closing gifts or sales from individuals.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate the mission and needs of the business school persuasively.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.

  • Proficiency with donor management databases, such as Blackbaud CRM, and Microsoft Office Suite.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Graduate degree or equivalent combination of education, training and or experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to promote various giving vehicles which may include multi-year commitments including planned gifts.

  • Experience working with committees or advisory boards in a higher education or nonprofit setting.

  • Experience using Blackbaud CRM.

  • Demonstrated understanding of a reunion giving model.

  • Experience working in annual giving in higher education or similar industry.

Advertised Pay Range:

$65,000-$70,000 commensurate with experience


Advertised Pay Range Statement:

All hiring rates are commensurate with relevant experience up to the advertised amount considering internal alignment.
