Job Description:
UPS is seeking a Legal Commercial Contracts Supervisor to join our team in Atlanta, GA. The Contracts Commercial Supervisor supports contracting and marketing activities including proposal management, contract negotiations, contract terms and conditions, privacy addendums, and external communications. This position may supervise others within the department.
RESPONSIBILITIES • Monitor, review and facilitate legal approvals for external facing communications. • Negotiate privacy provisions in domestic and cross border commercial contracts and liaise with information security as necessary for data and information security. • Review contract details included in proposals, contracts, and modifications to validate acceptable versus red-flag contract provisions. • Supports drafting and negotiation of non-disclosure agreements, standard contracts, and contract amendments. • Supports processing of SMB (small and medium business) orders • Provides support to facilitate the contract signature process. • Collaborates with internal stakeholders regarding business requirements. • Works with cross-functional groups to identify and resolve business and legal issues. • Creates effective processes and assesses opportunities to complete low and high value work. • Maintains a calendar of deadlines and tracks progress and roadblocks to completion. • Creates training, reference materials, reporting and presentations. • Supports matter management and knowledge transfers effective and through use of legal tools, technologies and platforms. • Works cross functionally to create training materials, FAQs, playbook updates and other advisable tools to automate, train and share knowledge.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS • Distinguishes between "big picture" concepts and comments and specialized, smaller specific facts associated with work; explains, in general, how details impact end goals or outcomes; ensures work is completed accurately and with the appropriate level of detail. • Applies knowledge of agencies' functions and regulations to compliance and enforcement activities; identifies routine situations requiring attention to ensure compliance. • Demonstrates the ability to use negotiation techniques in less complex situations; recognizes the potential impact of negotiation proceedings on the business; gains consensus from parties. • Identifies and evaluates risks; determines and applies appropriate risk treatment(s). • Demonstrates solid judgement and communication to juggle competing enterprise and business unit priorities. • Commits to continuous improvement and willingness to try new technologies and processes. • Effectively communicates cross-functionally and with external stakeholders. • Proficiency using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint
