Position Purpose:

Seeking world-class talent to join the world's leading distributor of automotive and industrial replacement parts and value-added services, operating 5,500+ locations and servicing more than 20,000 locations in the U.S. and Canada. Specifically, this role will function as a Catalog Data Governance Lead, to join our Digital Operations team. Complete and accurate catalog data is critical to the success of several functions, including Technology, Finance, Category Management, Merchandising, and Customer Experience. Working alongside key business functions, the Catalog Data Governance Lead will be pivotal in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of catalog data across global operations to ensure that GPC's foundational data is best-in-class. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data governance and data management, big data, and a deep understanding of the automotive aftermarket industry.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Catalog data governance frameworks and policies.
  • Perform documentation, requirements gathering, implementation, and execution of data governance standards.
  • Support the creation and enforcement of data standards, guidelines, and best practices to maintain data quality and integrity.
  • Participate in data management activities, including data modeling, metadata management, and data lifecycle management.
  • Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and completeness across digital catalog systems and PIM by leveraging technical tools and methodologies.
  • Support the establishment and monitoring of data quality metrics and KPIs.
  • Conduct regular data audits and execute data cleansing initiatives.
  • Utilize data governance tools to manage metadata, data lineage, and data cataloging.
  • Support and maintain data governance platforms to automate governance processes.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, Category, Product Management, Digital Experience, and Supply Chain, to align data governance initiatives.
  • Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams to address data-related issues and requirements.
  • Act as a guide and mentor for analysts on the team to guide their work and ensure alignment with data governance policies and best practices, along with providing direction around reporting, tracking, and key measures on governance performance.
  • Ensure compliance with governance standards and data policies.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of access control measures to protect item master catalog data.
  • Provide support to team members on data governance policies and procedures.
  • Promote a culture of data stewardship and accountability within the organization.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation in data governance practices.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in data governance technologies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications & Experiences:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • 5 years' (6-8 years preferred) experience in data governance and data management, and relevant Automotive governance experience.
  • Proficiency with data governance frameworks, data quality management, and metadata management.
  • 5+ years of experience in the automotive industry required.
  • Experience with Big Data (principles and application) and handling large-scale datasets specifically for big data platforms ensuring consistency, quality, and security at scale.
  • Experience with ACES & PIES required.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience with STEP (Stibo Systems).
  • Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet critical deadlines, and deliver under pressure.
  • Experience with data governance tools and technologies (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation).
  • Proficient technical skills in data modeling, SQL, GBQ, and data quality tools.
  • Certifications in data governance (e.g., CDMP, DGSP) are a plus.
