Job Summary
The Monitor Technician observes cardiac and video monitors and reports changes to the nurse caring for the patient and the Critical Care Unit nurse. This position is part of the 1199SEIU Bargaining Unit at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. This position reports to the Nurse Manager, Telemetry and Critical Care and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent required - Minimum of six (6) months rhythm interpretation or telemetry monitoring experience preferred - The ability to successfully operate telemetry cardiac monitoring equipment and to recognize lethal arrthymias quickly, communicating this to staff efficiently once trained required - Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and follow written and/or oral instructions required
