We are seeking an AzureDevOps Systems Engineer to work on our Azure DevOps Services and GitHub Enterprise Cloud platforms. This strategic role combines technical expertise in DevOps practicesand Agile methodology implementation. As an AzureDevOps Systems Engineer, you will play an important role in ensuring that our software development projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the needs of our customers. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including application development, information security, quality assurance, and operations, to evaluate and translate complex business needs into scalable technical solutions. This position requires hands-on process development and implementation within a fast-moving, agile group that interacts with and supports research and development activities in the enterprise. The unifying characteristics of the position are a well-grounded, hands-on understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle including best practices around Software Quality Assurance, an understanding of systems integration and automation, an eagerness to learn quickly, develop robust support models in an agile/flexible manner, and apply new technologies and services. You will be responsible for standardizing development workflows, implementing enterprise-wide policies, and establishing scalable DevOps practices that align with Agile principles. You will play a key role in the design and implementation of our CI/CD infrastructure while ensuring platform security, compliance, and optimal utilization across the organization. A deep motivation to work with and enable cutting-edge on-prem, cloud-based, and cloud-native projects, ability to work independently to meet deadlines, outstanding customer service skills, and the ability to help teams and projects successfully accomplish their objectives is a must. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Platform Engineering • Serve as a platform specialist for Azure DevOps Services and/or GitHub Enterprise Cloud platforms • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for various application types • Assist in platform capacity management, licensing, and resource optimization • Design and implement Git workflows aligned with GitFlow and/or GitHub Flow Continuous Improvement • Guide teams in implementing Agile practices within DevOps workflows • Establish metrics and KPIs for measuring DevOps effectiveness • Create andmaintain documentation for platform best practices • Evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies • Optimize deployment processes and reduce cycle times Team Support and Training • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to development teams • Conduct training sessions on platform tools and best practices • Support teams in troubleshooting pipeline and deployment issues • Create self-service capabilities and documentation • Participate in on-call rotation for platform support Stakeholder Management • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, security, and operations • Participate in architecture and design discussions • Present platform updates and metrics to leadership • Manage vendor relationships and platform integrations • Provide regular status updates on platform initiatives Working Conditions: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. • This position requires occasional local travel to MGB sites, vendors, and/or conferences • Hospital work environment working conditions include possible exposure to diseases or infections and may require safety gear (PPE) such as gloves and mask. • Normal office working conditions. Qualifications
Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related technical field • 3+ Years of hands-on experience with DevOps practices and tools • Experience with Azure DevOps Services and/or GitHub Enterprise Cloud • Working experience of CI/CD principles and implementation • Working knowledge of version control systems (Git/TFVC) • Good scripting abilities in at least one language (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) • Working experience with containerization using Docker • Familiarity with managed Kubernetes environments (OpenShift, AKS) • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code concepts • Strong grasp of Agile, SDLC and DevOps principles and practices Skills/Abilities/Competencies: • Experience with GitOps workflows and implementations • Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks • Experience with monitoring and observability tools • Ability to translate complex requirements into technical solutions • Strong debugging and problem resolution skills • Capacity to balance competing priorities and deadlines • Experience in incident response and resolution, Customer service orientation with internal teams • Excellence in written and verbal communication, Strong presentation and documentation skills • Ability to conduct effective technical training sessions • Strong team collaboration and mentorship abilities • Ability to influence without direct authority • Experience in leading cross-functional projects Ways to Stand Out of The Crowd • Develop custom Azure DevOps pipeline templates and/or resusable GitHub Actions • Document and share best practices through knowledge bases • Implement GitOps practices using tools like ArgoCD or Flux • Develop custom tools or scripts that enhance release automation • Professional Certifications (any of the following are desirable) o Azure DevOps Engineer/Developer/Administrator/Solutions Architect o GitHub Administrator/Actions/Advanced Security/Copilot o AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer/Cloud Engineer/Software Development Engineer/Solution Architect o Red Hat Certified OpenShift Application Developer/Administrator/Automation and Integration
