Job Summary
Under general supervision, the Operations Manager, FC is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership and oversight for a high volume 3PL-operated order fulfillment center. This position will provide on-site Interstate Batteries (IB) leadership for the 3PL and Econo processing team. Activities to include incoming purchases, inventory management, pick/pack operations, outbound transportation, reverse logistics, and byproduct management.
Key Responsibilities
Demonstrates knowledge of the best practices available for Warehouse Management Systems and Transportation Management Systems and recommends critical fail-safe measures to ensure the continuity of business within budgetary constraints.
Leads fulfillment center which includes overseeing shipping, receiving, and managing inventory processes.
Liaisons with distributor contacts for the distributors being supported by the facility. Communicates and collaborates with 3PL partners as needed.
Develops and maintains inventory strategies that ensure the accuracy and availability of product. Assists with inventory quality and accuracy assurance program.
Utilizes process improvement and a results-oriented approach to continually improve operational efficiencies that support the successful execution of Company strategic objectives.
Constantly reviews procedures for maintaining high standards of operations to meet expectations and quality standards.
Ensures key metric reporting is in place and lead direct reports in providing root cause analysis and continuous improvement solutions.
Ensures that the Company's physical assets (building, equipment, inventory, etc.) are properly controlled, maintained, protected and utilized. Oversees the needs for inspecting, maintaining, and managing warehouse equipment.
Manages the fulfillment center warehouse staff and work schedules to include but not limited to assignments, job rotation, training, vacations, paid time off, cover for absenteeism, and overtime scheduling.
Monitors workplace performance to improve team member performance. Ensures proper training for team members, including operational tasks and use of Power Industrial Equipment (PIE).
Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Supply Chain Management/General Business with 5+ years of experience OR commensurate experience in Distribution Center Operations
Experience in running large scale operations with direct employee supervision experience
Working knowledge of carrier operations, shipment routing, and distribution methods.
Preferred prior experience with WMS
Problem Solving and analytical capabilities
Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
Working expertise with Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel)
Lean Six Sigma Certification Desired (not required)
Superior leadership, coaching, management, motivation, and teamwork skills.
Strong organization and time management skills; able to work under pressure.
Strong computer skills.

Process flow responsibility for the planned annual number of units for the assigned warehouse
Management of IB warehouse Team Members
Oversees volume/labor planning in a high volume fast paced environment
Ensures compliance to all IT/system requirements in support of the FC
Work Environment
Ability to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time.
Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand and walk.
Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move 50+ lbs.
May be exposed to battery warehouse conditions such as exposure to moving equipment mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals.
Prolonged use of personal computer & telephone.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
