Blue Cross of Idaho is seeking an Intern in our Healthcare Operations Department for the Summer. This opportunity will allow an intern to measure the quality and safety of member care, practitioner, and provider services to members for all product lines.
This paid internship will be located at our corporate headquarters in Meridian, ID and may have some opportunity for hybrid work schedule.
What we are looking for in an intern:
Currently enrolled in a college or university, preferably a junior, senior, or post-grad student
Critical Thinking/Analysis and Problem-Solving skills
Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment
Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Tableau, Power BI or other visualization tools
Significant experience with MS Office
Ability to analyzing and improving processes
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to engage, collaborate and share your thoughts and ideas
Ability to use resources to conduct research and make recommendations
Enjoy working in teams and having fun while making a difference
Flexibility to work in a hybrid communication skills
What you will learn on this internship:
Data analysis including trending, interpretation, and summarization
Data driven process improvement
The link between data and operations in improving healthcare quality
Participate in informal and formal opportunities to learn/grow in understanding of Health Insurance industry
Create and deliver presentations and use visualization tools such as Tableau, or Excel charts and graphs in analysis
Research and strategize new or enhanced products and services
Collaborate with leaders on business and process management through current and future state mapping
Analyze and Aggregate data from different systems
