The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis is seeking to hire an enthusiastic and motivated Technical Trainer I or II to join our National Service Desk Team.

Best qualified applicants will bring an interest and foundational knowledge with experience in training programs to train and upskill current technical users. They must bring excellent technical writing skills focused on end users.

The goal is to contribute to the development of people’s technical/IT skills to meet organizational needs. You will plan, coordinate, and facilitate training for our National Service Desk staff. You will work closely with Business Analysts and support over a 100 National Service Desk Staff.

This position is posted at two levels: Technical Trainer I and Technical Trainer II. The selected candidate will be offered a position at one of the two levels.

  • The Twin Cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota,


  • Kansas City, Missouri


Responsibilities:


  • Perform and/or coordinate activities related to department, District, or the Federal Reserve System training efforts, which include developing, delivering, and/or evaluating training programs in a classroom or virtual environment using a variety of training methods and tools.


  • Consult with business areas to identify and analyze training needs and training approaches.


  • Ensure subject matter and delivery mechanisms are relevant to the audience and environment.


  • Determine appropriate, feasible, and effective solutions and provide recommendations and deliverables to meet training needs and goals.


  • Leverage existing and new tools and software to advance content delivery and consumption, which may include video creation/editing and eLearning instructional design and development.


  • Create training documentation, update/revise instructional materials, and create and/or reviews training tool development. Training content may include documents, presentations, videos, knowledge articles, etc.


  • Produce training schedules and classroom agenda and determine course content according to objectives.


  • Execute training sessions, webinars, and in-person workshops in large and small groups.


  • Participate in Quality Monitoring to provide feedback to agents and determine areas of training opportunity within the team.


  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct long- and short-term projects that may be focused on process improvements or implementation of new software systems.


  • Participate in the development of the skills and talent of department, District, and/or System staff.


  • Monitor training effectiveness and/or achievement of desired results by soliciting feedback from participants and others to make recommendations to management regarding updates, revisions, and improvements to course content and/or delivery methods.


  • Remain current on industry technical training techniques and processes.


  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications for a Technical Trainer I:


  • High School diploma and four (4) years of technical experience or experience in technical training or a combination of both OR


  • Associate degree in organizational development, education, communication, business, or a closely related field and two (2) years of years of technical experience or experience in technical training or a combination of both OR


  • Bachelor’s degree in technology, organizational development, education, communication, business, or a closely related field and years of technical experience or experience in technical training or a combination of both


  • Must have some or additional years of experience writing training content for adult learners.


  • Must have experience in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.


  • Excellent listening skills, with high levels of attention to detail and the willingness and ability to take constructive feedback with a goal focused on our end users.


Qualifications for a Technical Trainer II:


  • High School diploma and seven (7) years of technical experience or experience in technical training or a combination of both OR


  • Associate degree in organizational development, education, communication, business, or a closely related field and five (5) years of years of technical experience or experience in technical training or a combination of both OR


  • Bachelor’s degree in technology, organizational development, education, communication, business, or a closely related field and three (3) years of technical experience or experience in technical training or a combination of both


  • Experience must include writing training content for adult learners.


  • Advanced experience in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.


  • Excellent listening skills, with high levels of attention to detail and the willingness and ability to take constructive feedback with a goal focused on our end users.


Desired, not required:


  • Certification such as CTT+ (Certified Technical Trainer).


  • Current Technical training background. 


Salary & Benefits:

Technical Trainer I: $52,000 - $64,964 - $78,000

Technical Trainer II: $62,800 - $78,450 - $94,100

Salary offer will be based on qualifications/experience of the candidate, alignment with market data, the needs of the position, our total compensation package, and internal equity.
