Description:
Ideal candidate: Looking for someone with a PhD or MS and experiences in gene editing, cell line generation and cell-based assay development. Candidates who are perhaps early in their career and are looking for a stable learning opportunity. Preference for candidates with a broad skill set (e.g., molecular biology, cell biology) rather than a highly specific focus (e.g., a single therapeutic area like ovarian cancer)
LD&C BioAssay CBA-ATO needs new talent with experiences/potentials in cell line generation, assay and technology development. We propose to hire a contract worker with PhD to expand our capabilities.
Project Scope:
1. The development and optimization of novel cell-based assays ensure successful implementation and routine execution of these assays to support HTS, lead optimization, and mechanism-of-action studies for promising therapeutic targets.
2. Design, implement, and optimize gene-editing workflows in a manner that enables development and evaluation of cell-based functional assays supporting therapeutic target screening or lead optimization studies.
3. Investigate, identify, develop, and optimize new methods/techniques to generate reliable and reproducible data promptly.
4. Semi-independently plan and implement experiments, adapt readily to changing project needs and develop sophisticated problem-identification and problem resolution skills.
5. Maintain proficiency with the latest scientific literature and rationale surrounding drug targets and be an active contributor to the interpretation of results in group discussions.
6. Adherence to good laboratory conduct, documentation practices, and safety guideline
Basic Qualifications
0+ Years w/ Relevant PhD or equivalent (where applicable) 2+ Years w/ Relevant MS or equivalent 4+ Years w/ Relevant BS or equivalent Advanced and proficient understanding and use of technical principles, theories, and concepts to perform expansive range of work in a role. Basic knowledge of related and adjacent disciplinary areas.
Top 3 Must Have Skill Sets:
• Strong scientific foundation in the understanding and implementation of a wide range of cell-based assays (e.g., TR-FRET, BRET, AlphaLISA, HCS, luminescence and fluorescence-based reporter and/or label-free assays) with experience in the utilization of lab automation across assay development and screening
• Track record of developing, implementing, and performing novel cell-based screening assays in microtiter plates to support early drug discovery research
• Ability to design and implement gene editing (CRISPR knock out/in) workflows enabling the development of targets specific and disease-relevant cell-based assays
Day to Day Responsibilities:
• The development and optimization of novel cell-based assays ensure successful implementation and routine execution of these assays to support HTS, lead optimization, and mechanism-of-action studies for promising therapeutic targets
• Design and implement laboratory experiments, generate & interpret data supporting the successful development of new assays and test the biological effects of therapeutic agents
• Design, implement, and optimize gene-editing workflows in a manner that enables development and evaluation of cell-based functional assays supporting therapeutic target screening or lead optimization studies
