What You’ll Do


  • Understanding Wintrust’s business strategy, purpose, values, and brand, research, write, edit, gather supporting graphic assets, and present news and information accurately, in compelling and engaging formats suited to the audience and purpose, including executive messages, newsletter articles, mobile posts, video scripts, banner ads, web content, employee profiles/bios, promotional copy, brochures, flyers, key messaging, talking points, etc.

  • Develop, sell-in, and activate internal and external facing communications plans to promote awareness, garner agreement, influence positive attitudes and foster aligned behaviors.

  • Serve as communications consultant for change initiatives and organizational projects, lending strategy and editorial expertise, and coordinating efforts with internal partners, such as human resources, marketing, legal/compliance, and project/change management.

  • Create, manage and implement editorial calendar(s), content plans and budgets for assigned projects, channel(s) and internal change initiatives.

  • Collaborate with management, project partners, subject matter experts, graphic designers, video producers and other team members to ensure the appropriate concepts, themes, and messages are represented correctly, effectively and consistently for the business objective(s) and audience(s).

  • Cultivate internal network of subject matter experts, to ensure a regular drumbeat of timely news and information, delivered on agreed schedules, accurately reporting on business initiatives, operating results, organizational changes, employee and company recognition.

  • Build a research pipeline of external news leads and evergreen content.

  • Contribute to the creation of organizational reporting materials, such as the corporate social responsibility reports, 10-K, intranet and internet web sites.

  • Provide timely and proactive status reports, to ensure assignments are completed on time and channel schedules are met.

  • Attends meetings facilitated by business area or project initiator to understand the goals and objectives throughout the stages of a project.

  • Delivers presentations and pitches recommendations to corporate stakeholders, business managers/leaders, and peers, as needed.

Knowledge/Skills/Background/Experience


  • Minimum of 3 years of professional communications experience in corporate communications, PR/marketing agency or similar setting; banking experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in copywriting, content editing, proofreading in accord with AP style brand guidelines.

  • Hands-on experience developing and managing editorial calendars for one or more channels.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver quality content on deadline 

  • Proficiency in Content Management Systems, e.g., Poppulo, WordPress, Adobe Campaign, etc.

  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Office

Salary

The estimated salary range for this role is $60,000 - $77,000, along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience.
