Basic Job Functions:



SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of the Vinyl/PVC Welder is to setup and operate the Vinyl RF Welder according to the production schedule.

• Measure, review and layout PVC/Vinyl materials per the order specifications.
• Set up and program welder and make any necessary changes.
• Change out tooling when necessary.
• Weld material using the vinyl RF welder.
• Inspect and examine work pieces to ensure quality of material meets the requirement of the customer.
• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance of vinyl RF welding equipment.
• Keep area clean and organized.


Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.




Minimum Qualifications:




  • Knowledge of the product flow and processes.
  • Strong mechanical background.
  • Ability to read and interpret reports, work instructions and blueprints.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift and an overhead crane.
  • Requires operating hand tools, power tools and pneumatic tools, fabrication tools and measuring devices.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintaining instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to lift 30 - 75 pounds occasionally.
  • Squatting, kneeling and standing frequently.




Preferred Qualifications:



High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired, or two to four years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
