Job Description



At Thermo Fisher Scientific, we are looking for a Lead Site Specialist to join our team in San Francisco, CA. What will you do?



This position directs the daily workflow for a small team under the direction of the site lead and/or supervisor, enabling the team to consistently deliver high levels of customer service in support of our contractual obligations. In this role, you will be a key contributor to our Unity Lab Services division, which provides integrated lab service, support, and supply management. As a Lead Site Specialist, you will be responsible for a range of scientific support services, including order entry, order management, material handling, and chemical tracking. Your attention to detail and flawless execution will ensure that our customers receive world-class service.



Job Responsibilities

• Perform on-site program replenishments and disbursements
• Manage inventory, including stock rotation and cycle counts
• Assist with order entry and expediting
• Resolve customer service calls and process product returns
• Provide functional supervision to team members
• Collaborate closely with the onsite team to address open corrective actions


• Conduct chemical barcoding and tracking.


• Assist with performing lab audits.


• Gather data to support record maintenance
• Generate reports and develop site metrics
• Engage in process improvement activities



Experience



High school diploma or equivalent required.
Relevant experience in chemical management or an Associate degree in a scientific field.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a laboratory setting or services
• Demonstrated customer service, verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Strong communication skills and a desire to deliver excellent customer service
• Ability to collaborate with various levels of personnel
• Proficiency in using handheld scanners and performing data entry
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of software
• Ability to work independently at customer sites



Environmental Conditions

Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Cold Room/Freezers -22 degrees, Fluctuating Temps hot/cold, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Will work with hazardous/toxic materials.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $25.13-$37.66.
