We are looking for an organized self-starter to join our team as a 2nd shift Section Manager in LPSD for Heat Treat and Bevel Gears at building KK, in East Peoria, IL. As a section manager, you will be leading a group of operators to drive improvement in a very dynamic and exciting work environment. You will have up to 25+ direct report team members.
Responsibilities
Monitor and improve shop floor safety, aggressively eliminating unsafe processes
Assures fixtures, tooling and processes are followed to meet production schedules
Determines priorities and sequences jobs
Schedules and prioritizes constrained resources, and adjusts staff to meet flow and customer requirements
Determines and executes disciplinary action when appropriate
Ensures production material is procured and distributed to meet production schedules
Increases production efficiency through continuous improvement and waste elimination utilizing LEAN principles
Ensures preventive maintenance is performed according to schedule
Implements, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, Internal Certification, and others
Evaluates, assess, identifies, and leads the deployment of workforce training
Actively deploys value stream improvements
Practices and teaches CPS Guiding Principles
Initiates and conducts process improvement dialogs with Team Leads and Team Members
Drives root cause corrective action projects and continuous improvement
Leads section status reporting and monitors / audits section metrics
Leads the creation, implementation, and training of standard work procedures
Degree & Shift Requirements
Degree or equivalent manufacturing supervisory experience of 3+ years
Must be willing to work outside of normal work hours including overtime and alternate shifts
Top Candidates will also have
Prior leadership experience
Strong customer focus and ability to influence and lead hourly direct reports
Proficiency with Microsoft office 365
Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and customers
Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
Previous manufacturing or heat treat operations experience
Experience with Lean manufacturing
Project management skills
Ability to analyze and interpret various types of data to make informed decisions

Summary Pay Range: $87,480.00 - $131,280.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
