Position Summary:
The Continuous Improvement & Quality Supervisor is accountable for all aspects of inventory control. This includes researching reasons for inventory discrepancies, creating cycle count schedules, directing warehouse process quality control, as well as coordinating all recalls. This position will also use lean techniques to optimize processes and drive a culture of continuous improvement. This position may involve handling of human tissue products.

Job Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following (* indicates essential function):
• Implements and maintains policies and procedures relating to inventory control. This includes preparing the daily cycle count workload and hitting our monthly and annual goals, ensuring the accuracy of warehouse inventory, and improving quality throughout warehouse processes.
• Creates and monitors the cycle count process and scheduling of counts to ensure all required SKUs are audited.
• Investigates inventory issues, performs root-cause analysis and creates procedures to correct negative trends.
• Authorizes and all adjustments made to inventory.
• Maintains record keeping in compliance with FDA and other state/federal policies.
• Responsible for maintaining and resolving FDA and other holds as designated by regulatory compliance.
• Audits receiving and shipping procedures to ensure that policies are followed.
• Responsible for associate development through training on policy & procedures.
• Creates a cohesive organization by keeping lines of communication open.
• Reviews daily inventory discrepancy reports.
• Serves as the owner of warehouse CAPAs, NCRs, and quality management objectives.
• Use the SAP system to generate reports, analyze metrics, maximize shipments, and optimize processes.
• Manage the investigation of shipping related quality issues, damage, and losses and bring to resolution.
• Mentor and develop a continuous improvement culture amongst team members and direct reports.
• Implement lean tools and methodology into the operation (A3 thinking, PDCA, 5S visual management, 8 wastes, DMAIC, value add vs. nonvalue add, etc.).
• Implement project management techniques and methodologies to drive transformative results throughout the department.
• Execute on cross-functional projects with focuses on efficiency, cost effectiveness, and customer quality.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Attributes:
• May sit/stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Traverse long distances through the building.
• Push/pull/carry up to 50 lbs.
• Bend, crouch and reach continuously while performing required job tasks.
• Spend significant time reading both on paper and on a computer.


Work Environment:
• General warehouse environment.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.


Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, supply chain management or related field OR 5+ years of experience in a distribution or related environment.
• 1+ years of experience in a supervisory role or related role with people management responsibilities


Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong analytical skills & experience working with various technologies, systems, & software
• Proficiency in working with ERP systems (SAP is preferred)

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Windows, Outlook, Excel)
• Experience with leading a team of direct reports, goal setting and coaching/counseling.
• Demonstrated knowledge of logistics and shipping/receiving procedures.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to be detail oriented and a proactive problem solver.
• Experience using project management techniques and driving results through cross-functional projects
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification or higher
• Experience with Lean process improvement tools such as: process mapping, root cause analysis, Kaizen, 5S, waste reduction, value add vs. non-value add, PDCA cycle, six sigma
• Willingness to learn any related skills that are necessary to this job.
• Experience with mission critical products requiring tight traceability, special handling, and regulation (FDA or similar) is a plus.
• Experience with quality management systems, writing CAPAs & NCRs, and reviewing corporate procedures
