The Associate Director of Development (ADoD) works closely with the philanthropy team to implement and coordinate effective multi-year strategies and plans for gift prospects, including corporate, foundation, and individual donors.
The ADoD is responsible for building and maintaining a portfolio of qualified donors and developing relationships. Relationship-based fundraising is our approach, and they will positively connect and engage with their teammates, prospects, donors, and stakeholders. They understand and apply the principles and best practices of developing donor strategies. They will focus on providing the best-in-class donor stewardship and thrive on connecting and qualifying discovery prospects. They will be responsible for direct asks supporting global, regional, and local priorities to meet funding needs. They listen for and secure opportunities for gifts of assets or other non-cash gifts. They are energetic, highly motivated, and focus on the daily work habits that are the foundations for success. They involve their Kentucky colleagues, the Development Committee of the Board, the entire Board of Trustees, and other natural partners, securing their assistance with their donors and keeping them apprised of interactions, issues or concerns, and direct questions as appropriate. They can communicate TNC's mission and our conservation work in broad and compelling terms. The ADoD will be required to use TNC's Blackbaud donor database and participate in developing proposals. This position would require regular travel in Kentucky, focusing on particular geographies for donor meetings.

Employment in this position will be contingent upon completion of a Vehicle Use Agreement, which may include a review of the prospective employee's motor vehicle record.
The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $75,000 - $82,000 for annual base salary. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate's actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges.
