Dental Assistant
Position Summary
The Dental Assistant works with the dentists in providing dental treatment and care to patients of Access Community Health Centers. The Dental Assistant will work effectively on a team and communicate respectfully based on shared goals and mutual respect. They will accurately update the dental record and document treatment that occurred during the visit. The Dental Assistant prepare the examination rooms by ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for the dentist. They also assist the dentist during their procedures by handing them instruments and anticipating their needs throughout the appointment. The Dental Assistant ensures that patients flow through the treatment processes quickly and efficiently following consistent processes, while also delivering great experiences through compassionate interaction.
The Dental Assistant will also determine the needs of patients and assists in connecting to appropriate resources, and provides information to resolve less complex issues. If a patient requires additional intervention, the Dental Assistant determines the next course of action including forwarding to or consulting with the appropriate Access leadership. The Dental Assistant requires extensive knowledge of Access Community Health Centers for the purpose of addressing and routing patient concerns and questions. The Dental Assistant will support department and inter-departmental workflows as needed.
Desired candidate would have the following qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
Certificate in dental assisting from an accredited technical college or 6 months of dental assisting experience
BLS certification
Desired Qualifications:
Fluency in English and Spanish or English and Hmong
Experience with EPIC or other electronic health record software system

Pay range begins at $21.80 hourly and is adjusted according to relevant experience
