Lead the long range planning for the business, application, data and technical architecture for the solutions in a specific domain. Ensuring all solutions within that domain work logically and coherently together.
Essential Functions
Current State:
Document current state architecture, including data flows, integration points, and system interactions in anticipation of reimagination.
Work with development teams to diagnose and resolve complex, multi-system spanning production issues.
Future State Design & Execution:
Develop detailed roadmaps for the preferred future state of the technology & solutions architecture.
Identify gaps between current and future states and propose strategic solutions to bridge these gaps.
Work closely with business leaders, IT teams, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and understand business needs.
Analyze business requirements and develop functional/system specifications.
Facilitate workshops and discussions to align technology strategies with business architecture as well as data & information systems architecture.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment of architectural solutions.
Architecture Design:
Create and maintain architectural models, including diagrams, flowcharts, and documentation to support proposed solutions.
Track, manage and define plans to mitigate technical debt and includes debt associated with individual applications, system integration, and other software engineering aspects.
Technology Evaluation:
Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies to drive continuous improvement.
Partner with the Technical Architecture organization on evaluation emerging technologies, tools, and platforms to recommend enhancements to the information systems architecture.
Mentoring and Leadership:
Guide and mentor junior developers, fostering a culture of learning and growth within the team
Lead cross-functional teams in architecture-related initiatives and projects.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Hands-on involvement in solving complex coding challenges and implementing efficient solutions.
Functional domain experience in one or more of the following: Clearance, Airline Operations, Shipment Operations, Sort Operations, Commercial/Digital Experience.
Knowledge of the organization's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations
Experience working with and deploying systems which incorporate best practice principles, patterns, and tools
Collaboration skills and ability to work in a dynamic team environment and interact with global talent from technical and non-technical organizations
Strong understanding of business capability management strategies and solutions with hands-on experience architecting, designing, implementing, and delivering solutions
Ability to identify opportunities for reusable data services to reduce data duplication
Knowledge of and ability to design, apply and evaluate new information technologies for business environments to improve work productivity and accuracy.
Experience working with Business and IT Architects in architecture roadmaps and modeling tools (e.g., IRIS, Sparx, or other similar tools).
Knowledge of Business Architecture Guild (BIZBOK) and The Open Architecture Framework (TOGAF) or similar architectural frameworks.
Extreme Programming (XP) and/or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) experience and architecture practice experience
Proven initiative execution skills

Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information Systems, business and/or equivalent formal training or work experience.
Minimum Experience
Five (5) years work experience in information technology or engineering environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirement.
Domicile Information
This position can be domiciled anywhere in the United States. The ability to work remotely within the United States may be available based on business need.

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
Pay: $9,208.38/month - $16,575.08/month
