General Responsibilities:
Responsible for the overall accounting functions for multiple properties to include:
Driving excellence for timely and accurate accounting.
Ability and knowledge to prepare & analyze monthly profit & loss statements.
Prepare journal entries, detailed reports, reconciliations and perform other accounting functions in accordance with policies, procedures, and deadlines.
Assist with projects as required by Corporate Controller.
Primary Functions:
Construction Accounting Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate records of all project finances for internal/external auditing and tax purposes.
Track all Construction cost against budget and keep up to date
Report any financial risks and budgetary discrepancies to management for review.
Maintain electronic billing folders for all projects with the appropriate documents, including monthly waivers and invoices.
Prepare and organize various reports, financial forms, and analyses.
Process development & construction invoices including consultants, vendors, subcontractors, and supplier bills.
Review the process for proper coding of construction invoices/payment applications and lien releases for contractors, subcontractors, and vendor invoices.
Perform month end close process for development & construction books preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.
Corporate Accounting Responsibilities:
Meet all processing and reporting deadlines.
Resolve account payable issues or queries as requested.
Complete monthly state and local tax filings for each property in a timely manner.
Be knowledgeable of all SOPs for the development & construction accounting area.
Perform other duties as assigned by Corporate Controller which includes but is not limited to:
o Balance sheet reconciliations
o Bank reconciliations
o Payroll
o Audits
