The Senior Manager of Category Operations is directly responsible for influencing and executing the category strategy. The Sr. Manager is responsible for co-development of business strategies with direct accountability to deliver an end-to-end operational plan. This individual will provide operational leadership, expertise, and input on business decisions. The Sr. Manager will build and own merchant relationships and vendor partnerships, as well as interact with business team members at all levels including retail field, IT, Demand Planning, Marketing, Finance and respective business groups.
This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work some days on-site at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.
What you'll do
* Develop ongoing and end-to-end operational strategy to support business categories Complete quarterly on-site audits of Best Buy locations to ensure compliance with program requirements, and perform periodic internal audit testing
* Direct responsibility for category or initiative operational plan and process Analyze opportunities for program improvement and direct improvement plans, including program modifications, standard operating procedures, field-facing supplies, tools and job aids, and training updates
* Partner with business team, marketing, retail, IT, finance, demand planning, and other partners to ensure holistic marketing and operational strategies are developed and executed Ensure business and program strategies are aligned in support of compliance and the employee/customer experience
* Engage with retail and corporate partners to ensure strategies and information are developed with a retail operational lens
* Effectively performance manage while motivating and developing team members to gain additional skills and experiences
Basic qualifications
* 5 or more years of direct people management experience
* 5 or more years of retail, services or equivalent experience
* 4 or more years of experience building cross-functional partnerships
* 4 or more years of business operations and support experience
Preferred qualifications
* 4 or more years of vendor partnership experience
* 4 or more years of project management experience
