Pay Range: $63,752.00 - $95,638.40



Summary:

The Phlebotomy Operational Support Specialist will act as a resource to department staff, physicians and other Altru staff on issues related to the provision of laboratory services. This Specialist develops collaborative working relationships with internal customers and establishes and supports performance standards. The Specialist meets regulatory requirements, maintains quality management, promotes continuous improvement, engages employees, and works to continually improve the quality of service. The Specialist collaborates with health system partners and supports the advancement of the health systems mission, vision and values.



Essential Job Functions:



  • Develops and implements short term goals and is responsible for measurable outcomes and effective use of resources. Responsible for program and service development in response to both internal and external stakeholders.


  • Assists in coordinating staffing, scheduling, and workflow for the service area, prioritizing and adjusting needs in relationship to workload.


  • Assists with the hiring process for manager approved positions


  • Participates in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and job descriptions. Serves as a resource for staff and physicians regarding policies, procedures, and practices.


  • Completes reporting and record keeping requirements accurately and within established timelines. Monitors services for efficiency and accuracy by evaluating, initiating and participating in restructuring of current and new procedures, services, and/or programs.


  • Coordinates staffing and scheduling duties in accordance with established procedure and practices.


  • Responsible for section compliance with all applicable regulatory agency standards. Supports compliance initiatives and efforts of the department and organization.


  • Demonstrates competence in technical work assignments.


  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.




Certification




  • Driver's License with Acceptable Driving Record | Driver's License - Current State Licensed | Prior to Start Date | HR Primary Sources


  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) | Various Recognized | Preferred
