Position Summary


Carlyle's Investor Relations (IR) technology team are seeking a talented and adaptable Software Engineer who is eager to explore new technology, automate development processes and build streamlined cloud solutions. Ideal candidates will have familiarity with the dotnet framework or similar high-level frameworks and some flavor of modern front-end framework (we primarily use React). We are looking for someone who is interested in diving into AWS and building out infrastructure as code and delivering it all using DevSecOps principles. They should be a well-rounded engineer who embraces agile methodologies and is dedicated to producing high-quality work with robust unit and automated testing strategies.


This position will have the opportunity to touch many areas of our technology stack including but not limited to our CRM systems (Salesforce and DealCloud), Investor Portal (AWS/dotnet/React), custom integrations between systems (dotnet, ESB, MDM), as well as interfacing with our data and reporting capabilities (Snowflake, PowerBI).



Responsibilities




  • Develop and maintain .NET/Python/JavaScript/Typescript applications, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.

  • Integrate various applications and systems to enhance functionality and data flow.

  • Utilize AWS services to design, deploy, and manage cloud-based solutions.

  • Implement infrastructure as code practices to automate and improve infrastructure management.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement DevOps pipelines and practices.

  • Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to iterative development processes.

  • Build and maintain unit tests and automated testing strategies to ensure code quality and reduce defects.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across various systems and platforms.

  • Interface with business SMEs to help gather and understand business processes and requirements as input to system and feature designs.




Benefits/Compensation



The compensation range for this role is specific to Washington, DC and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications.


The anticipated base salary range for this role is $160,000 to $180,000.


In addition to the base salary, the hired professional will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package spanning retirement benefits, health insurance, life insurance and disability, paid time off, paid holidays, family planning benefits and various wellness programs. Additionally, the hired professional may also be eligible to participate in an annual discretionary incentive program, the award of which will be dependent on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.



Qualifications



Education & Certificates





  • Bachelor's Degree, required

  • Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science or a related technical discipline, preferred

  • Graduate level degree, preferred




Professional Experience





  • Minimum of 8 years of overall relevant experience in software engineering.

  • Experience with application integration and data flow between systems.

  • Proficiency in AWS services and cloud-based solution design.

  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.

  • Experience with serverless computing and AWS Lambda.

  • Familiarity with dotnet, python, JavaScript, TypeScript and/or other high level programming languages.

  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as DataDog.

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines.
