Slalom Finance Technology is seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to play a significant part in leading our cross-functional Engineering team through an evolving application portfolio. You will play multiple roles such as Technical Lead and People Manager for an Agile team of Engineers and Analysts. As a Technical Lead, you will own a portfolio of Finance and Account applications and strategize on the future of these applications. Your primary responsibilities include participating in solutioning and delivery of initiatives, working with Product Owners to organize and prioritize our product backlog, partnering with business stakeholders, individual development contributions, and leading our Agile team. Our team primarily works remotely, using online collaboration tools to work together and stay connected. This role would similarly have the ability to be worked remotely.



What You'll Do



• Manage the day-to-day operations and deliveries of the FinTech Engineering Team as it evolves to support business growth


• Translate business requirements into well-architected, maintainable solutions that best meet the needs and desired outcomes of Accounting & Finance, and the overall business


• Participate in technical design sessions with Solution Architects; develop technical solution documentation aligned with the business objectives


• Assess and create recommendations around future needs and capabilities of our systems and tools, including evaluation of patches and upgrades, as well as potential changes to our team's standards


• Keep on top of the stability of our application portfolio and drive change where needed


• Grow your and the team's skill set to support the evolution of our portfolio


• Be an active member in daily software lifecycle activities, follow and continually refine coding standards, best practices, and participate in code reviews


• Occasionally contribute to code development and implementation to support team efforts and maintain technical proficiency


• Actively participate in iterative proof of concept exercises to explore solution options


• Provide estimates to implement solutions based on business requirements


• Perform routine performance and salary reviews


• Mentor and coach team members



What You'll Bring



• Proven experience leading a team to ensure quality work is being delivered on schedule


• Our application portfolio is extensive. Experience in areas like Oracle Cloud ERP, Serverless Architecture, Cloud Services, API Development, Integrations, RPA, Low/No-Code platforms, and DevOps is beneficial.


• We seek candidates with extensive experience in as many of the following areas as possible: AWS / Azure, TypeScript / JavaScript, Angular, .Net, Relational Databases, Boomi, Oracle Integration Cloud, Automation Anywhere, Microsoft Power Platform. It is not necessary to have experience with every skill listed.


• Expert-level knowledge in application architecture


• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to audiences of all business and technical levels


• Experience with data integrations between enterprise systems

Compensation and Benefits

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the base salary pay range is $145,000 to $200,000. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
