Howmet Aerospace has an immediate opening for a Sr. EHS Engineer at our Canton, OH Location. This position is a key member of the location's EHS team and is highly visible position in the plant and Business Unit. The position provides an excellent platform for potential future growth to the successful candidate.

Key Responsibilities of this position include:
Maintain a culture that is aligned with Howmet's EHS goals and objectives, with continuous EHS improvements.
Manage, direct, coach, lead, and motivate plant personnel to achieve EHS goals and objectives in a timely and safe manner.
Act as key EHS liaison with location manufacturing and maintenance organizations, assisting in the execution of their strategic and tactical EHS plans.
Assist in the development and implementation Safety & Health programs and activities to achieve, maintain, and exceed compliance with relevant regulatory laws and regulations as well as comply with Howmet policies, standards, and procedures.
Assist in coordination of location Human Performance (HP) implementation including and Critical 9+ compliance audits of employee behaviors and plant activities.
Facilitate implementation of Safety & Health systems including Industrial Hygiene programs and other health related requirements
Participate in investigation teams, as required, to assure prompt, thorough incident review; make appropriate corrective action recommendations and entry into IHS and item closure tracking.
Identify and develop good working relationships with federal, state and local authorities (i.e., safety agencies, fire departments, etc.) as well as appropriate internal Environmental, Health and Safety contacts.
Develop, coordinate and/or conduct H & S training programs.
Oversee review process for providing temporary accommodations, and function as the single point of accountability for worker's compensation case management.
Coordinate and assist in the execution of capital S&H projects to ensure compliance with requirements and completion on a timely basis. This includes recommendation of HS capital equipment purchases and other equipment to ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
Lead and assist employee safety teams to understand and own safety and compliance down to the lowest level.
