JOB PURPOSE

Generate, negotiate, underwrite, recommend, commit and approve mortgage loan investments, utilizing knowledge of assigned real estate markets, sales and negotiation skills, real estate valuation techniques, appraisals, and credit and financial analysis.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Contribute to the company’s success through excellent customer service and meeting or exceeding performance objectives for the following major job functions:

1. Generate maximum yield and fee income by soliciting, negotiating, underwriting and committing commercial mortgage loans consistent with established investment guidelines.

2. Manage, maintain and cultivate relationships with multiple mortgage banking offices in multiple geographic markets. Ensure that correspondent mortgage bankers originate and close a consistent flow of quality business.

3. Assist in the on-going evaluation of mortgage banking firms in assigned markets, and communicate investment policies and guidelines through consistent travel to assigned markets.

4. Communicate department policies and mortgage loan investment guidelines to investment sources and provide appraisal, analytical and technical support to the investment division.

5. Provide market research information regarding trends in supply and demand, construction costs, rental rates, land values and competitor lending policies. Maintain working knowledge of the applicable lending laws of each asigned state. Provide appraisal, analytical and technical support to the SMI staff and the investmetn division.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION REQUIREMENTS

Demonstrated skills: Posses the necessary communication and negotiation skills to solicit and price mortgage loan business from third parties. Manage competing priorities with attention to accuracy and detail; adjust work schedule to deadlines and peak work periods; work effectively in collaboration with peers, team members, and customers.

Ability to: Maintain correspondent lending relationships; analyze and apply technical procedures to each loan investment through proper review of appraisals, leases and credit/financial information; apply investment concepts and strategies to written and verbal communications; travel 7-9 weeks per year and conduct property inspections and meetings with investment sources; attend continuing education course/seminars.

Working knowledge of: Automated systems including databases, excel spreadsheets, word, voicemail, and email; office equipment including copy and fax machines, personal computers and telephones and the HP12C.

Advanced knowledge of: Commercial real estate valuation techniques, commercial real estate loan underwriting analysis and techniques.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Degree in Business, Finance, or related field.

Experience: 3-4 years of progressively responsible experience in commercial lending and/or investment related fields, or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant e

Please note - the salary range for this role is listed below. In addition to salary, our package includes incentive plan participation and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits, as well as an initial PTO accrual of 164 hours per year. Employees also receive 11 paid holidays and 2 wellness days per year.

  • Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.

Salary Range:

$92,250.00 - $135,250.00
