Construction Project Manager - Healthcare - Southern CT at HAYS

Posted in Other 1 day ago.

Location: Hartford, Connecticut

Job Description:

-Your new company-

This healthcare construction firm has been in business for a decade and has been building their client portfolio ever since. They strive to be the go-to healthcare builders in the area, and they are proud of their repeat business and solid client base. Because of the successful year in 2023, and now 2024, this company has set its goals on growing & expanding, but not diversifying. They know what they are good at, and they aren't interested in testing out new waters (for the most part). Healthcare is the niche, and they are darn good at it. Now they are looking for a Project Manager to help them build more beautiful projects. Their operation spans the Westchester & Southern Connecticut areas and their projects are all located in this area. This specific role is mostly focused on the Southern CT portfolio, but as long as you can make it to the projects (i.e., you are coming from the city or from Westchester), we are good to go.

-Your new role-

As a Construction Project Manager with this company, you will oversee projects in the healthcare space in the Connecticut area. Norwalk, Bridgeport, New Haven, etc. These consist of outpatient facilities, exam rooms, clinics, operating rooms, MRI installation and fitout, etc. If there is construction work being done by a healthcare provider in Westchester, chances are this company knows about it. You will manage projects from the contractor side, reporting to ownership, and hiring the subcontractors directly. This is not an owner's rep role, so make sure you bring that self-perform experience! The firm is hoping that this individual will come in, manage a project and show them what they can do, and move on up to SPM and beyond.

-What you'll need to succeed-

  • 5+ years in construction project management (10 ideal)

  • Experience working for a general contractor (or self-performing with a CM or Developer)

  • Healthcare construction experience is preferred

  • Heavy renovation experience

  • Good leadership for junior members of the team

  • Ability to commute to projects in Connecticut

  • Construction-related degree preferred

-What you'll get in return-

  • Join a company with a bright future

  • Join a fast-paced environment where this firm has solid market share

  • Ability to move up in rank once you have demonstrated skill

  • Possibly avoid having to trek into Manhattan or NYC

  • Join a small-midsize firm where your contributions are valued

  • Good company culture (can confirm because have placed people there!)

  • Mentor junior members of the team and become a leader in the business
