Overview
The Lead Supervisor is to provide support to the Facility Leads and Facility Manager in directing the day-to-day function related to second shift (3:30pm-12:00 midnight, Monday Friday) operations at the Consolidated Mail Order Pharmacy in Charleston, SC with an emphasis on quality, productions, and customer satisfaction. The position is responsible for supervising all second shift DLH employees at the facility
Responsibilities
The position is responsible for daily attendance sheets, fielding employee calls to the facility, responding to employee questions, working with lead team members to draft and present disciplinary actions, training leads to better manage their sections, overseeing production and enforcement of VA/DLH standards. The position works under general supervision from the Facility Manager. Employee will perform essential functions as outlined herein according to assigned functional area.
Oversees daily staffing of second-shift employees for DLH.
Serves as the on-site representative to DLH's client in the absence of the Facility Manager.
Reports on daily production, personnel and quality statistics to VA and corporate staff as required/requested.
Monitors policies and practices to ensure compliance with Government Regulatory Agencies.
Provides guidance to staff for schedules, requested leave and daily staffing needs.
Assists the Facility Manager in the management of all production and accuracy of prescription fulfillment and ensures production requirements are met; assists in the management of ongoing contract and compliance requirements; assists with continuing education requirements, training, and certifications of all personnel.
Identifies issues in efficiency and suggests improvements.
Assists with approval/denial of employee PTO requests, assists with employee relations matters, manages, and counsels employees on corrective actions, manages daily attendance sheets to reflect accurate recording to assist with payroll, all other attendance duties as assigned.
Works with leads, assesses job duties, and delegates available resources.
Assists with identifying targets and goals; relays this information to appropriate personnel.
Monitors productivity within departments and notify nonproductive employees to DLH Facility Manager.
Assists with approval of leads job rotation, lead training and cross-training schedules.
Monitors and maintains staffing requirements, adjusts as needed and works closely with Facility Manager and Admins on staffing efforts.
Manages staff and plans department activities/team building exercises.
Other duties as directed.
Qualifications
Current National Pharmacy Technician certification is required (PTCB or NHA)
Lean Six Sigma is desired.
Supervisory experience in a production facility is preferred.
Staffing industry or government contracts experiences is preferred.
OSHA and Workers Compensation experience is preferred.
Knowledge of pharmacy production equipment is preferred.
Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills is acceptable.
