Overview

Lutron is seeking a Tactical Buyer to join our Materials team. In this key role, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient procurement of materials, playing a crucial part in supporting our supply chain operations.

Responsibilities

As a Tactical Buyer, you will be accountable for the following:

• Managing purchase orders (POs) and maintaining accurate records, including exception message execution, red report execution, hot list review, and supplier on-time delivery (OTD) communication.

• Proactively managing inventory levels, monitoring safety stock, and addressing material shortages and procurement delays.

• Analyzing and tracking key performance metrics such as MRP execution, supplier OTD, material shortages, and past-due invoices.

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate material planning and timely order fulfillment.

• Coordinating with suppliers to resolve issues, expedite deliveries, and maintain strong working relationships.

• Reviewing and updating reports and trackers, including customs POs, defers, and cancellations.

• Continuously improving processes to optimize the supply chain and minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Business, Operations, or equivalent required
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
• Minimum 3-5 years previous experience in purchasing/supply chain role/s
• APICS CPIM (desirable)
• Experience/Knowledge required (Materials / purchasing areas, bill of materials, MRP)
• Communication skills, customer focus, problem solving, attention to details, sense of urgency
