Responsibilities

What you'll be challenged to do:

Gannett Fleming TranSystems is looking for a CEI Transportation Technician II- Project Document Control to provide construction inspection and assistant to the assigned project. Works daily with the contractor or project manager to ensure the projects are meeting deadline and goals.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Process estimates for LAP projects.

  • Ensure materials are received properly for projects.

  • Project file set up.

  • Ensure/check federal documentation requirements.

  • Set up and scheduling meetings for Project Manager.

  • Assist with project coordination.

  • Preparing Agendas and project meeting minutes.

  • Invoicing for projects

  • Fleet management needs for the Asheville area.

  • Assistance with Time entry for inspection staff.

  • Assisting with Time for staff to ensure correct project numbers

  • Assisting with Resumes

  • Project Inspection. 

Qualifications

What you bring to our firm:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Six (6) years’ experience in the construction industry.

  • Must be able to become certified in DOT classes and maintain these certifications

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel

  • Must be a good communicator and able to resolve solutions in the field.

  • Must be able to work independently and manage time wisely

  • Must be able to read and understand construction plans, blueprints and maps.

  • Must have basic math skills to compute quantities and costs when requested.

  • Must be able to interpret and implement company mandated safety policies.

  • Must have all DOT certifications per project requirement.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Must have an ability to operate a level and have an understanding of cut and fills and elevations for grades.

  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  • Must understand construction surveying procedures and principles.

  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.

Physical/Mental Demands:


  • Talk, hear, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach.

  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds daily.

 

Working Conditions:


  • Work in outdoor environment 95% of the time.

  • Moderate noise level.

  • Travel via automobile on daily basis.
