Job Description:

Bray International, Inc. is seeking a skilled Drafter to provide essential drafting and design support. In this role, you will create detailed component models, assemblies, and drawings for a variety of mechanical and electrical devices, ensuring adherence to Bray’s standard practices in maintaining ERP and related data.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop detailed design drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications for mechanical and electrical devices using CAD software.

  • Create, store, and manage drawings electronically within the Bray ERP system.

  • Collaborate with team members to design, layout, or detail components and systems, resolving any design problems that arise.

  • Review and analyze specifications, sketches, and related data to inform component design and procedural instructions.

  • Check dimensions and assign numbers to components as required.

  • Layout and produce schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships among components, assemblies, and systems.

  • Consult technical handbooks and tables throughout the drafting phase.

  • Work closely with the Design Engineering team on component drawings, assembly drawings, and Bill-of-Materials.

  • Assist in maintaining and updating standard product technical documentation.

  • Support product validation testing, certification, and preparation for third-party facility audits.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a two-year degree in Mechanical Drafting and Design or related field is highly preferred.

  • Hands-on experience or training with AutoCAD and SolidWorks or similar CAD programs, including part design, assemblies, and PDM file management.

Core Competencies:


  • Proficient understanding of ASME Y14.5 Drafting Standard and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.

  • Mechanical and electrical skills related to form, fit, function of assemblies and understanding of electrical schematics.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering personnel to meet project timelines.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including molding, stamping, casting, machining, and welding.

  • Strong attention to detail, adherence to regulations, and safety procedures.

  • Excellent organization and time management skills.

  • Proficient oral and written communication abilities.

  • Team player with the ability to work autonomously with initiative and urgency.
