Job Summary


The Associate Director of Housing for Housing and Dining Services is a full time, 12 month, management position reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Residence Life, Housing, and Dining Services. The Associate Director of Housing and Dining Services is responsible for the overall management of housing processes and assisting in dining services consistent with the mission of the Residence Life, Housing, and Dining Services department.


This includes but is not limited to:


Overseeing all processes and software associated with room selection and room assignments, management of software interfaces and usage between Adirondack Solutions, Banner, SMS and Blackboard software programs. Attend ADIRONDACK, Banner and Blackboard training sessions.


Interact with Adirondack office for any concerns or changes needed to be made to The Housing Director Software


The Associate Director administers the incumbent, freshmen and transfer student housing processes. This includes but is not limited to the development of appropriate materials for marketing and procedures for securing on-campus housing, mailings, online application processes, web-based room selection and auto-assignment processes, waiting lists and lotteries as needed.


Collaborating with other departments on campus to make appropriate interfaces with the housing software, The Associate Director of Housing and Dining Services conducts job responsibilities in a manner which supports a departmental atmosphere open to meeting the reasonable expectations of clients and ensuring high quality services.


The Associate Director of Housing and Dining Services supervises the Assistant Director of Housing and Dining, one graduate student, 2 undergraduate students, and one clerical support staff.


This position is a "live on campus" preferred position and would be required to provide on call duty coverage.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 or more years progressive experience in Residence Life and Housing

  • Cultural competency as it relates to working with communities of color

  • Experience working with a Student Information System (i.e. PeopleSoft, Banner, etc.)

  • Experience working with Housing Process Software (The Housing Director, My College Roomie, Campus Kaizen)

  • Strong organizational and program development skills

  • Understanding of how to use limited financial resources

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as programs, services and University calendar necessitates
  • Preferred Qualifications


  • Master's Degree

  • Supervisory Experience

  • Experience working in Dining

  • Experience working with Disability Services

  • Ability to live on campus

    The starting salary range for this position is $75,076 - $84,867.
