Scope of Position


The Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Institute ("The James") is the patient care component of The Ohio State University's Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Dental Assistant is the member of The James Ambulatory Care Team with the goal of providing personalized health care to patients throughout our outpatient's clinics.






Position Summary


The Dental Assistant (DA) serves as the dental assistant and coordinator of dental assisting activity for the James. This individual will coordinate the specialized maxillofacial prosthodontic services provided at the James. DA provides chair­side dental assisting services; takes radiographs; assists with laser-based treatments; prepares trays; maintains and places requests for supplies and maintains and cleans dental equipment and instruments. DA assists with care coordination office duties such as pre-authorization, , scheduling, phone communication with patients, etc. DA is responsible for maintaining quality outcome indicators for this clinic






Minimum Qualifications


High school graduate or equivalent. Formal training as a dental assistant required. Radiology certification required with experience with cone beam imaging desired. Three years' experience as a dental assistant desired. Continuing education in laser-based dentistry desired.
