Assistant Professor, Education Scholar Pathway

The Department of Neurological Sciences at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine solicits applications to fill one (1) faculty position in the Education Scholar Pathway. The primary responsibilities of the candidate will be development, administration and instruction of undergraduate (upper level, juniors and seniors) Neuroscience curriculum. Academic advancement at the Larner College of Medicine requires excellence in teaching as well as scholarly contributions, particularly in educational scholarship.


Qualified candidates should have a doctoral degree (MD or PhD) in Neuroscience, Systems Neuroscience, Organismal Biology or related science, and 2 or more years related experience. Additional requirements include a passion for teaching, knowledge and use of active learning strategies and strong interpersonal communication skills. Evidence of/or strong interest in developing educational scholarship is highly encouraged.
The Department of Neurological Sciences at UVM is home to world-class researchers, physician scientists, and educators who blend clinical excellence in the treatment of neurological conditions with outstanding research of nervous system function and dysfunction and the education of diverse learner populations from undergraduates to postgraduates. The Department also plays an active role in the Neuroscience Graduate Program leading to the PhD in Neuroscience.
