This internship position is located at our corporate headquarters in the Strip District area of Pittsburgh, PA.
Spring/Summer Internship | January/February Start Date
In this internship, the selected candidate will learn about the essential functions of Recruitment and will work on various projects within the Human Resources department. In addition to learning the functions of the Human Resources department, during the summer all interns will work on a group intern project that will be presented to the company Executives and Managers upon completion. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable real world work experience. This is an ideal position for a college student who desires to work in a fast paced, dynamic atmosphere and be exposed to all aspects of Human Resources.
Responsibilities
Assist with reviewing job seekers on job boards
Make recruiting calls to job seekers to inform them of employment possibilities
Manage the Recruitment Hotline & Jobs@pittohio Inbox
Partner with Recruitment Team to complete employment reference checks
Post positions on various recruiting websites, vocational schools and college/universities
Assist with the Driver/Dock referral program
Work with the Recruitment Team on various reports
Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned
Other Duties:
Complete Daily Open Requisition Audit Report for Terminals and MAR Weekly Open Requisition Audit Report
Update job postings on applicable job boards
Assist with virtual hiring events
Conduct exit interviews; maintain and review exit interview tracking spreadsheet
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Human Resources or a related field
Minimum GPA of at least 3.0
Must be a Sophomore, Junior or Senior level college student
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Work, Excel)
Must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail is a must
Must be able to multi-task
Must possess basic analytical and critical thinking skills
Ability to view problems as challenges to be positively addressed and solved
Must possess the willingness to be mentored by experienced professionals to execute job responsibilities
Maintain exceptional degree of discretion regarding confidential information
Must be able to work independently and function as part of a team
Establish and maintain effective relationships with all levels of internal and external customers
Must be able to demonstrate creativity
Ability to remain flexible/adaptable and excel in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
