Job Description:
Primary Job Function:
- TIG weld, induction and torch braze thin wall tubes, ducts and manifolds to aerospace quality standards
- Cold work tubes, ducts & manifolds to conform to check fixtures
- Interpret routings, op sheets and draw on personal knowledge to determine most efficient approach to repair a given part
- Develop programs and operate an Orbital Weld machine
- Serve as a seasoned welder with the ability to train, lead and motivate Level 1 & 2 teammates.
- Effectively collaborate with engineering while developing new parts, processes and techniques
- Position is up tempo and detail oriented
- Clean and pressure test product as assigned
- Bead blast product as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Extensive experience welding thin wall titanium, stainless steel and nickel alloys
- Ability to certify to NADCAP requirements (AWS D17.1) for all required materials and joint types
- Possess or attain certification as a (CWI) Certified Weld Inspector (AWS QC1, B5.2)
- Possess or attain certification in torch and induction brazing
- 10 years experience in Aerospace welding and metalworking
- Applies basic math and blueprint interpretation skills
- Must be able to show proof of legally ability to work in United States
- Must be able to read, write and understand the English language
- Must be able to pass FAA Drug and Federal background check
- Attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of this position
Preferred Qualifications:
Aerospace / Defense industry experience a plus.
Current or prior AWS D17.1 certification
A&P certificate is a plus
