The Senior Accountant maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Works closely with the Controller ensuring monthly financial processes are completed.



Duties/Responsibilities:





  • Conduct month-end close activities to include the timely preparation and review of account reconciliations, journal entries, accrual schedules and monthly reporting package, in accordance with GAAP

  • Assist in the preparation and review of various month-end close reports and analysis to validate the accuracy of the financial information, including but not limited to documenting results for submission to management and external auditors

  • Prepare and effectively communicate financial statement fluctuations, both balance sheet and income statement as it relates to prior year, budget and forecast, identifying root causes for variances and resolution of issues

  • Prepare analyses of transactions, trends, and key indicators of financial data under the direction of management

  • Prepare and file Sales and Use tax and Property tax returns

  • Assist with developing and implementing policies and procedures

  • Assist in the cash management reporting and projections

  • Perform other related duties as assigned




Required Skills/Abilities:





  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting

  • CPA or CPA track

  • Strong technical accounting skills (expert knowledge of US GAAP) and proficiency with researching accounting lit

  • Advanced excel experience including VLOOKUP, Sumif and Pivot tables

  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment

  • Highly organized

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills




Preferred Skills/Abilities:





  • Workday Enterprise Management system

  • Public accounting experience (Big 4)

  • Experience with the health care sector




Physical Requirements:





  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, typically in a cubicle environment (constant noise, fluorescent overhead lighting)
