A DAY IN THE LIFE
Ensures the integrity and completeness of all documents with strong QA/QC procedures
Assists in developing project document deliverable outlines and layouts, technical writing of reports, data interpretation, and development of graphical presentations in a logical and professional manner
Accurately records relevant laboratory sample information on chain of custody while collecting and inspecting samples for shipment and analysis
Collects a variety of environmental data using accepted standardized data collection methods
Becomes proficient in field sampling, inspections, data collection, QA/QC of data results, data reporting, synthesis and analysis
Becomes knowledgeable of regulatory standards in area of technical background or technical responsibility
Evaluates current and proposed codes, standards, regulations, and guidelines to determine the impact on client current and future programs and activities
Assists in developing compliance strategy(s) to meet regulatory requirements
Interprets data and observations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry guidelines and advises management/clientele accordingly
Interfaces with customers to provide project status reports and ensure customer needs are met
Communicates with Project Manager when potential issues are foreseen or potential issues arise that may inhibit performing tasks within the allotted schedule
Works effectively client in both independent and team settings
Maintains confidentiality at all times
Exercises safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs
Keeps up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshops
Performs other duties as assigned
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee may be required to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers, and is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel. There may be occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor of supplies and materials weighing no more than 30 pounds. The work may involve some bending, standing or walking. Out of office site visits could potentially have more strenuous physical demands and will be at least 25% of the job duties
YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or Environmental Studies from an accredited four-year college or university
2 years of entry-level experience in field of study
Knowledge of computer aided software (Microsoft Suite, Workday, etc.)
Ability to complete and maintain HAZWOPER certification with the 40-hour HAZWOPER environmental health and safety class, and annual 8-hour refresher class
Oral and written communication skills
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to present to Supervisors
Organizational skills and attention to detail
