About the Position



We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our growing Energy team, with a focus on power delivery infrastructure, including substations, transmission, power generation, and renewable energy projects. In this role, you will be responsible for driving business growth by identifying and securing new opportunities within the power delivery sector. The ideal candidate will have 7 to 10 years of relevant experience, a strong background in engineering/design, and a passion for advancing the energy industry. You will engage with key clients across the United States, working on projects that span multiple markets and geographies. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your knowledge and skill set while contributing to a range of innovative design projects. We are looking for a motivated, self-driven individual who can lead business development efforts and build lasting client relationships.



Key Responsibilities


  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within power delivery sectors, including substations, transmission, power generation, and renewables (solar, wind, battery storage).

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key clients to understand their needs and align our services with their project goals.

  • Lead business development efforts, including proposal preparation, sales forecasting, and strategic planning for power delivery projects.

  • Manage and track sales opportunities using CRM tools, ensuring accurate forecasting and reporting.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet client requirements and industry standards.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape in the power delivery and renewable energy sectors.


Experience and Qualifications

  • 7 to 10 years of business development experience in power delivery engineering/design, including substations, transmission, power generation, and renewable energy projects.

  • Proven expertise in the planning, design, and development of power delivery infrastructure.

  • Demonstrated success in sales forecasting, CRM opportunity management, and client relationship building.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and successful project execution.

  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a passion for driving innovation in power delivery and renewable energy solutions.

  • Availability to travel for client visits, industry events, and other business development activities at least 50% of the time.

Additional Information


Many factors are considered when determining compensation at Pond, including scope and level of position, geographic location, candidate skill, knowledge and experience. Starting base pay may vary depending on these factors. We anticipate filling this position as a Business Development Manager with a salary range of $100,800.00 - $159,800.00 .
