JOB DESCRIPTION

This Vice President & Actuary position is responsible for leading and managing the actuarial staff in the Westchester Actuarial pricing unit for Casualty, Product Recall, Environmental and Programs. The role is based in Philadelphia, PA reporting to the Lead Actuary for Westchester and supports approximately $1.6B of annual GWP.

Duties and Responsibilities related to this position:


  • Work closely with WSG management to coordinate the actuarial support for Casualty, Product Recall, Environmental and Programs
  • Supervise the actuarial pricing team including managing the staff's priorities, workloads, training and development in order to ensure timely delivery of:
  • annual pricing studies, as well as ad-hoc pricing study requests
  • monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements, including price monitoring and NvR, as well as the improvement of these reports as appropriate
  • large account pricing referrals
  • Work closely with the Finance team on the annual planning process, providing loss ratio projections and planning support documents; monitor and revisit loss ratios monthly throughout the year through re-bridging
  • Support the purchase and placement of reinsurance by working closely with the Ceded Re team to provide data and analytics as needed
  • Collaborate with the Global and North America Analytics teams as needed to complete projects and assist with implementation.
