SUMMARY



The Computer Systems Specialist supports the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute at the National Institute of Health Clinical Center by providing support to install, setup, and/or troubleshoot Windows and Mac computer systems in a Microsoft Windows Network (Domain) environment following established NIH, NHLBI, Clinical Center DCRI and DRD procedures and protocols.This full-time position is 100% onsite in Bethesda, MD.


Must be able to obtain a NIH Public Trust clearance investigation for access to facilities, equipment and property.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS



Must be able to obtain a NIH Public Trust clearance investigation for access to facilities, equipment and property.


DICOM and HL7 familiarity is desirable


Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five (5) years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education / experience.



KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Troubleshoots Microsoft Office Professional applications.


Installs, replaces and troubleshoots hardware. This includes but is not limited to PCs, notebooks, printers, scanners, multi-functional devices and other devices.


Provides support for Help Desk activities as needed, including taking help desk phone calls from users, creating work tickets using help desk software, communicating details of problems to other personnel, and assisting users with hardware or software problems over the phone and in person.


Provides specific application support for research related software products. This includes but is not limited to medical imaging, statistical and publication applications.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE



Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five (5) years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education / experience.

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.

The estimated pay range for this role is $59K - $78K, with the final offer contingent on location, skillset, and experience
