What will your job look like?
The Director, Pricing & Actuary is a Leader within the MTM Finance organization, with responsibility of developing cost projections and associated pricing for MTM’s NEMT contracts. This role will analyze the financial risks and incorporate the appropriate financial trends within the healthcare industry to develop cost projections, pricing and to support strategic decision-making. The Director, Pricing & Actuary will work closely with Leaders throughout the organization to achieve business financial objectives.
Location: This is a hybrid role located at the Lake St. Louis, MO location.
What you’ll do:
Develop and implement actuarial strategies aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements
Lead the pricing strategy, ensuring competitiveness while maintaining profitability
Analyze financial risks related to MTM’s healthcare contracts and assess the impact of regulatory changes, economic trends, and healthcare utilization patterns on company finances
Serve as the actuary on large, complex capitation rate setting with State Medicaid agencies and Managed Care Organizations
Participate in rate negotiations with clients
Accountable for the development and maintenance of financial models to determine pricing, profitability, and risk exposure
Prepare actuarial reports, memos and presentations for management and clients. Document assumptions, methodologies and findings in accordance with professional and industry standards
Use statistical and data analysis techniques to interpret large sets of transportation claim data and other healthcare data, identify cost drivers and suggest improvements
Work collaboratively with Senior Management, Regional Vice Presidents, Program Directors and Finance to provide actuarial insights and support cross-functional initiatives
Maintains a thorough working knowledge of federal, state and managed care reimbursement methodologies
Provide input to improve and streamline processes regarding data flow and data quality to improve data accuracy, viability and value
What you’ll need:
Experience, Education & Certifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field
FSA or ASA designation
7+ years of healthcare actuarial experience, with at least two years working directly on Medicare or Medicaid
5+ years in a leadership or management position
Skills:
Detailed oriented and strong work ethic
Highly organized and ability to prioritize work to achieve established goals and meet strict deadlines
Works both independently and in a team environment
Excellent communication, both verbal and written
Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Skilled in exercising initiative, judgement, problem-solving and decision-making
Strong communication and presentation skills
Strong work ethic
Proficiency with Excel
Some knowledge of SAS, SQL, or R
Strong understanding of the US healthcare system
Demonstrable skills in presenting technical concepts to a non-technical audience in an understandable way

Salary Min: $127,280
Salary Max: $165,000
