GBA is seeking a construction inspector to support our Transportation Group. The ideal candidate will have experience with inspection of roadway and bridge projects as well as field materials testing. We are willing to educate and train individuals with the desire to grow in the inspection field.
Responsibilities:
Read and interpret plans and specifications
Perform materials testing on soil, aggregates, concrete and asphalt
Observe and inspect construction to achieve compliance with contract documents
Perform project documentation, keeping timely and accurate reporting
Prepare pay applications, change orders and general administrative duties
Perform environmental inspections
Requirements:
At least 2+ years of inspection related experience
KDOT Certified Inspector Training Certifications preferred, but will provide if needed
Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Broad knowledge of construction materials and methods
Experience with earthwork, asphalt pavement, concrete pavement, bridge structures, storm sewer, sanitary sewer and other utilities is desirable
Self-motivated, optimistic attitude
Excellent organizational and computer documentation skills
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to lift and carry field equipment and samples for testing, 50lb lift test required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must have a valid drivers license and be able to pass a physical and drug screening
