You will directly supervise and train manufacturing personnel in a manner consistent with overall Company’s policies and procedures. Plan and manage the day to day allocation of resources (equipment, people, materials and systems) in order to efficiently, safely and cost effectively achieve performance targets.  Improve performance through coaching, training and developing employees.  Implement and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.  
 
Here’s What You’ll Get To Do:
 


  • Supervise personnel and coordinate production work-flow. 

  •  Ensure all production schedules are completed at the end of the shift and that company quality standards are met each day.  

  • Track absenteeism and review and approve employees’ time worked in timekeeping system.  

  • Ensure that all personnel, prior to the start of shift, are wearing the correct safety equipment and that safety awareness is maintained throughout the shift.  

  • Ensure that all safety and incident reporting procedures are followed as well as all individuals are properly trained and their job functions are being performed correctly.

  •   Report to maintenance and/or safety personnel any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions and/or maintenance. 

  • Perform performance evaluations for direct reports

  • Suggest and/or initiate personnel actions such as promotions, hires, transfers, pay adjustments, and terminations and ensure compliance with the Company’s affirmative action policy, practices and procedures.  

  • Complete verbal and written disciplinary warnings/counseling in accordance with the company’s policy and procedures


 
 
Here’s What We Are Looking For:
 

  • Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years manufacturing supervisory experience

  • Able to plan, allocate resources, manage production and coordinate people and equipment

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Problem analysis resolution

  • Able to read and perform basic mathematical calculations as well as read and write measurements in numbers, fractions and decimals at a high school education or equivalent level

  • Able to read and properly utilize a tape measure

  • Experience in glass/metal industry preferred

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Safety
 
Hazards - Exposure to chemicals/fumes, pinch points, exposure to excessive noise, 
Strain/sprain, laceration/puncture, particulate exposure, contusion, temperature extremes, slipping, burns, shock, loss of limbs
Controls - Personal protective equipment, safety training, written procedures
Safety Equipment – Hard hat, back belt, safety glasses, steel toe shoes/boots, cut resistant gloves, cut resistant outerwear, other equipment as dictated by the specific department.
 
Work Environment
 
Noise levels in the work environment can be moderate to high.
The plant facility is subject to the same general climate conditions of the region (heat, cold, humidity, etc.).  
Chemicals, dust, pollen and other typical airborne particulate matter are present within the atmosphere of the production floor and may create some odors in the plant. The Company, in an effort to provide its employees with a safe and healthy working environment, limits exposure to chemicals through written procedures, engineering controls, and PPE. 
While some chemical may pose health risks if not properly used, employees are trained on the proper safety equipment and procedures for handling chemicals. 
While the chemical exposure and odors are under acceptable levels set by OSHA and the WCB, they nevertheless, can be smelled and are handled according to the company’s hazardous communication program.
