The Cigna Group is seeking an experienced executive communications leader who is passionate about improving healthcare affordability, access, equity, and innovation and is ready to start making an impact.

In this role, you'll partner directly with a member of our Enterprise Leadership Team (ELT), as well as their senior leadership team, to develop an internal and external communications plan that helps advance their team's strategic goals in support of our growth and impact. This person should have a mix of both strategic and tactical skills - your creative thinking and ability to connect dots will help you develop a strong communications plan, and your strong writing, business acumen, and partnership skills will enable you to execute against it.

The role requires a motivated professional who can operate with autonomy, works well under pressure, and has proven strength in building strong cross-functional relationships with senior leadership and matrix partners.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a communications strategy, inclusive of both internal (employee) and external audiences, that's connected to our overall mission and business strategies.

  • Directly partner with the ELT member, as well as their Senior Leadership Team (SLT), on communications tactics and strategies.

  • Lead and develop a wide variety of communications, such as presentations, key messages, intranet content (stories, blogs, etc.), emails, videos, newsletters, employee and customer storytelling, and social media content, among others.

  • Lead and execute a variety of employee meetings and events, both virtually and in-person, including town halls and employee engagement activities and events, to increase employee experience, knowledge, and engagement.

  • Partner with our Newsroom, Social Media, and Media Relations teams to amplify our story and strategy.

  • Partner and coordinate with key matrix partners, senior business leaders, and the broader Communications organization.

  • Accountable for metrics and insights of communications programs, using specific data to track progress and make continuous improvements.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Offer:

  • At least 8-12 years of experience working in public relations, political/policy communications, public/corporate affairs, or media relations within the healthcare landscape.

  • Evidence of keen insight into the integration between business and communications' objectives

  • Strong writing and editing skills; ability to write for a variety of audiences across multiple communication channels and vehicles

  • Experience in crisis, issue and/or reputation management and issue monitoring

  • Ability to skillfully manage multiple projects, deadlines and deliverables

  • Experience working in a global, highly-matrixed, deadline-sensitive environment

  • Tact and discretion to work with confidential information and colleagues at all levels

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in communications, journalism or health policy

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
