About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Manager, Network Engineering to oversee and guide our team of network engineers. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in network design, implementation, and management, along with strong leadership and project management skills. This role involves ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our network infrastructure while mentoring and developing team members.

Key Responsibilities



  • Leadership and Team Management:

    • Lead and manage a team of network engineers, providing direction, support, and professional development opportunities.

    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.

    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.




  • Network Design and Implementation:

    • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure to meet the organization’s requirements.

    • Ensure network solutions are scalable, secure, and optimized for performance.

    • Collaborate with network architects and other IT teams to develop and implement network projects.




  • Network Operations and Management:

    • Monitor network performance and reliability, utilizing monitoring tools and responding to issues promptly.

    • Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.

    • Manage network hardware and software, including routers, switches, and wireless access points.




  • Project Management:

    • Plan and manage network projects from conception to completion, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.

    • Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and internal stakeholders to deliver network solutions.

    • Document project plans, network configurations, and changes.




  • Technical Support and Troubleshooting:

    • Provide advanced technical support for network-related issues, resolving complex problems efficiently.

    • Develop and implement procedures for network troubleshooting and maintenance.

    • Ensure minimal downtime and disruptions through proactive monitoring and maintenance.




  • Capacity Planning and Optimization:

    • Analyze current and future network requirements to plan for capacity upgrades and scalability.

    • Identify and implement network performance improvements and optimizations.

    • Conduct regular reviews of network utilization and performance metrics.



Qualifications



  • Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in network engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or team lead role.

    • Extensive experience with network design, implementation, and management.




  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in networking technologies and protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, etc.).

    • Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Wireshark).

    • Strong understanding of network security principles and practices.

    • Familiarity with virtualization and cloud networking (AWS, Azure, VMware) is a plus.

    • Knowledge of scripting and automation tools (Python, Ansible) is desirable.




  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

    • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

The annual base pay for this position is: $186,188.00 - $279,282.00

F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
