The Field Safety Coordinator for Pigging, RECAP, and Hot Tap Services is responsible for ensuring the safety of field operations associated with pipeline maintenance and repair. This role involves the development, implementation, and oversight of safety programs to minimize risks and ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards.

Other Duties/Expectations:


  • Safety Program Development:

    • Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety protocols and procedures specific to pigging, RECAP, and hot tap operations.

    • Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety issues and develop mitigation strategies.

    • Ensure all safety programs comply with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.

  • Training and Education:
    • Conduct safety training sessions for field personnel to ensure understanding and adherence to safety protocols.

    • Develop training materials and programs tailored to the specific needs of pigging, RECAP, and hot tap services.

    • Maintain up-to-date training records and certifications for all field personnel.

  • Field Inspections and Audits:
    • Perform regular field inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures.

    • Identify unsafe practices and conditions, and implement corrective actions.

    • Document and report findings from safety inspections and audits.

  • Incident Response and Investigation:
    • Respond promptly to safety incidents, accidents, or near-misses in the field.

    • Lead incident investigations to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.

    • Prepare detailed incident reports and follow up on the implementation of corrective actions.

  • Compliance and Reporting:
    • Monitor compliance with safety regulations and company policies in the field.

    • Prepare and submit safety performance reports to management.

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records and documentation.

  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with field personnel, supervisors, and management to promote a culture of safety.

    • Communicate safety expectations and updates to all relevant stakeholders.

  • Participate in safety meetings and provide feedback to improve safety practices.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety coordination role, preferably in the oil and gas industry.

  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to pigging, RECAP, and hot tap services.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.

  • Certification in occupational safety (e.g., CSP, ASP) is preferred.

Required Skills:

  • 1-5 Years in safety for industrial manufacturing/fabrication company; or similar safety accreditation a plus

  •  Lead collaborations leading to positive results, implementation of health, safety and environmental programs

  •  Word/PowerPoint/Excel, Access a plus

  •  Bilingual English/Spanish required

  •  On call 24/7 for emergencies

  •  Good Judgment and discretion, prompt, accurate decision making in complex situations


  •  Forklift Certification


  •  First Aid/CPR/AED Certification

Physical Requirements:


  • Physical dexterity: standing for 8 hours or more in a wide range of temperatures/weather conditions

  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds

  • Communication Skills
