Job Description:

The annual salary range for this position is $58,892 - $78,523. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of other benefits and earned time off that vary depending on part-time or full-time status.
1. Job Summary:
The Mid-Level Gift Officer is responsible for managing a portfolio of prospects and donors, assisting in planning and implementing activities to build the YMCA's Annual Fund. The incumbent is responsible for researching donors, broad donor communications, and developing and executing fundraising strategies that increase donor retention rates, increase giving per donor, and lift mid-level donors into a Major Gifts portfolio.
2. Essential Functions:
Be champion for the mission of the YMCA of the North, communicating Y mission and message to the donor community
Manage a portfolio of mid-level donors ($400-$2,500) to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward supporters in strategic collaboration with operational leaders for YMCA branches, camps, and programs
Manage mid-level giving including personalized renewal, upgrades, acquisition, and acknowledgment processes
Develop and test effective strategies to acquire new mid-level donors, retain current donors, upgrade contributions per donor, and feed high potential mid-level donors into a pipeline for the Major Gifts Team
Work within the database to track communication, fundraiser and donor activity, and assist in analyzing data to inform and prioritize individuals and strategies
Actively participate in the creation of fundraising activities and events
Meet individual goals as well as helping the team reach group revenue goal
Assist in development of written copy and coordination of images for use in cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation activities.
3. Relationships:
This position reports to the Senior Director of Major Giving who reports to Senior Vice President of Mission Advancement who reports to the President/CEO. The incumbent interacts regularly with program executive directors, YMCA team members from throughout the association, and key volunteers, alumni, and donors.
4. Qualifications:
Required
Bachelor's Degree in a related field
Minimum of three years' experience in fundraising with proven track record in annual giving work or similar philanthropic experience
Exceptional ability to create and maintain personal relationships in a variety of settings, including individually and in groups, in formal and informal settings, and in a customer-service driven environment
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, including the ability to develop, write, and edit copy and content for donor appeals and stewardship communications for a variety of alumni segments, with diverse representation in mind, via multiple platforms and media
Strong analytic skills and attention to detail
Reliable transportation between YMCA locations throughout Minnesota
Preferred
Proven experience with Raiser's Edge NXT or similar fundraising systems
6. Work Conditions:
The position requires travel to various YMCA sites throughout Minnesota
Must be able to work on a computer for extended periods of time.
