Position: Staff Technical Program Manager
Job Location: 640 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086
Duties: Proactively communicate technical program progress and risks and engage with core teams to resolve issues. Update broader teams and stakeholders on technical program progress on deliverables, features, and milestones to program success metrics. Participate in end-to-end discussions for managing high-level business, functional and technical requirements, and the functional and technical designs of systems, and demonstrate an understanding of design choices for scalability, high availability, performance, and reduced cost. Participate in end-to-end discussions for high-level systems, functional and technical designs of simple and medium-complexity systems, and demonstrate an understanding of design choices for scalability, high availability, and performance. Proactively identify system limitations, scaling factors, and boundary conditions and rationalizes for overall system and business architectural design decisions. Define goals, deliverables, schedules, and critical paths for managing multiple medium- to high-complexity programs within an assigned area of work, in alignment with overall strategic objectives and shifting priorities by applying agile implementation methodologies. Independently monitor and track the progress of multiple projects in a program. Report milestone deliverables against approved quality metrics and manage timely project delivery. Independently engage and communicate with identified program stakeholders based on defined cadences to align and share regular updates. Create development plans and schedules, identify risks, assign, and drive action items, track resources, and keep the project on time and help reduce costs. This position does not supervise employees.
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (Any), Management of Technology, or related area and 3 years of experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (Any), Management of Technology, or related area and 5 years of experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.
Skills required: Experience with requirements for software (design, architecture, testing, system design). Experience with functional and business requirements to determine end user expectations of a product functionality. Experience with technical requirements to show how functional and business requirements can be achieved and the final product functionality details. Experience with Iterative Agile Methodologies for cyclic and collaborative processes and the Sequential Waterfall Methodology for sequential or linear processes. Experience designing user experiences as per business needs and technical designs including documenting how that functionality is to be implemented technically. Experience developing solutions to lower the cost of producing a product or providing a service. Experience delivering multidimensional modular systems. Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle and managing software development projects. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $158,746/year to $286,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
