RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general supervision, perform standard billing and maintenance transactions in CIS, metering, and other related systems to ensure accurate customer billing.
Provide support to ensure operational standards and regulatory requirements are met, data interfaces are effective and data integrity is maintained.
Process anomaly and other recurring system reports as part of the meter to cash billing and related processes.
Assist in the development and maintenance of documentation for department procedures; CIS, metering, or other customer system reports, processes and related information.
May assist project teams in testing modifications and enhancements to CIS, metering, or related systems.
Provide customer support services via phone, email and other channels to meet customer experience operational requirements; and support system users or operations staff.
Requires general understanding of billing and related accounting processes, and strict confidentiality to assure customers' right to privacy.
Coordinate closely with administration and field staff in the execution of duties.
Follows system specifications and maintains interfaces in the system as well as appropriate documentation.
Requires excellent communication skills to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent PLUS two years or more related experience* required. OR
Associate degree in administrative/office support, business administration, or related field, and no experience required. OR
Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field, and no experience required.
*Related experience defined as the following: Demonstrated proficiency and experience in utility billing, metering systems with a solid understanding of internal controls, accounting, billing, or other comparable roles where accuracy is critical.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position may be considered for a hybrid work arrangement based on ALLETE's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the employee's position will be a blend of work performed both in-person and at an offsite location such as an employee's home office. This position will report to Duluth, MN.
This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.
BENEFITS:
The expected hourly compensation range for this position is $22.60 - $27.40. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions.
