Position Overview (Summary/Objective):

We are seeking a technical manager responsible for leading a team of systems engineers and project managers in our Signature Management and Analysis group. The SigMA Group develops innovative solutions for radar cross section signature diagnostic applications. We are a diverse and multi-disciplinary group working to help strengthen our national defense in a flexible work environment that fosters innovation and collaboration. The technical manager responsibilities outlined below are in addition to any role already being performed.

Responsibilities:


  • Lead a diverse workforce to ensure customer support across multiple production platforms and development contracts, managing time off requests to ensure appropriate coverage as needed.
  • Provide leadership, technical direction, and guidance to staff to support career plans and to foster a culture of growth and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a leader in the business who staff can rely on.
  • Work with Human Resources for performance reviews, promotions, and reward nominations as appropriate.
  • Identify project needs and manage staffing requirements both within the team and across other ARKA departments.
  • Identify capital needs and work with management to prioritize and budget.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Active Top Secret security clearance.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Solid project management skills with office and data center projects.
  • Strong business, organizational and management skills with an emphasis on relationship management.
  • Capable of evaluating staff professionally, objectively, and without bias to identify and communicate strengths and developmental needs for individuals.
  • Ability to have difficult conversations and provide candid feedback.
  • Problem solving, analytical reasoning, and negotiation skills.
  • Leadership abilities coupled with good interpersonal skills and solid decision-making ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and perform multiple tasks simultaneously while affording top priority to business-critical issues.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Previous people management experience.
  • Background in signature diagnostic applications.

This job operates in a professional office environment.
