About the Role:

Are you ready to navigate the exciting world of aviation logistics? As a Material Control Specialist at the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority, you’ll be part of the Operational Asset Management team, helping ensure our operations soar smoothly.

Under the guidance of the Material Control Supervisor, you’ll manage the daily operations of our fleet and warehouse storerooms. From procuring goods and services to maintaining an organized warehouse, you’ll play a crucial role in keeping our airport running like a well-oiled machine.

Compensation:


  • Maximum – Based on experience

  • Minimum - $19.08

What You’ll Do:


  • Collaborate with supervisors and technicians to determine appropriate materials to complete jobs. Will assist the Materials Controls Supervisor to determine usage rates and storage capacities of stock items. 

  • Organize and maintain a designated parts staging area, assist in adjusting min/max stocking levels, perform QA for incoming parts and materials, maintain the critical spares inventory and manage the process to return access materials back into stock.

  • Works with vendors to get quotes and negotiate price. 

  • Checks computer software programs daily for material requests and approved purchase orders. 

  • Work with CMMS Administrator and Maintenance planners to plan and layout monthly preventative maintenance items.

  • Creates purchase orders, material requests, part specifications, work orders and supporting documents. 

  • Organizes fleet and warehouse storeroom, creating labels for parts and ensures parts and supplies are set up with bar codes. Disposes of excess, damaged, and obsolete material.

  • Assists Fleet Manager, Lead Mechanic, and other OAM Departments to determine usage rate and storage capacities.

  • Receives and stores recycle materials.

  • Operates forklift for moving large items and snow when needed.

What You Need:

Education

Required Education:


  • High School diploma or equivalency

Experience

Preferred Experience:


  • 1 year of inventory and parts control experience

  • 1 year of purchasing experience

  • Experience in the operation of a forklift


 Licenses or Certifications

Preferred Certifications:


  • CPP or NIGP-CPP or ability to obtain if desired.
